Paul B showing us a Magic Stack and Whack quilt
2022 06 June CCQG SnT
Paul was busy and made a second Magic Stack and Whack.
Paul Bossenbroek made this tee-shirt quilt for a friend that was the coach at Lansing Christian Schools.
Danita Brandt showed a quilt she made for a friend that has macular degeneration. She thought the bright colors would be appreciated.
Danita told us that she was inspirited by John Putnam because the previous month he showed a Civil War Reproduction quilt featuring pinks. She had these tops that needed to be finished and she did. She had started them some 10 year ago.
Bev Wilkinson told us that she is a new grandmother. This baby quilt features pictures in the loft area and the barn doors can be opened to show animals.
Jan Gagliano made this french-braid style quilt for the Chemo Project. It was done as part of her never-ending quest to use all of her scraps.
Char Ezel showed us this Jenny Beyer quilt that was made from a kit a friend had purchased many years ago. She wanted Char to finish it. Char and her friend are now members of the "I will never make another Jenny Beyer Quilt club."
Liz Cardinal presented a quilt she made from panels that is a donation for the Heart Warmers Project.
Peggy Elkins showed us a quilt she made for a granddaughter that is graduating from high school. A book lover. Peggy put framed photos of family members on the shelves in addition to all the books.
Cathy Skelton showed us a Gudrun Erla design. (sorry I missed the pattern name.)
Ruby Freed showed us a quilt made from blocks that her mother had made many years ago and put away to finish, maybe never. Ruby got the blocks and did finish the quilt.
Ruby Freed's sister was shopping at an antique mall in Lowland found some vintage embroidered blocks. She dropped them off at Ruby's house and instructed her to do something with them. Much later she did. (love the tiny nine--patch setting)
Chelane Priller told us that she took a personality test being given by a quilt shop in Washington. Based on the test, the shop chose the fabrics for the quilt. She loved them.
Chelane liked the pattern enough to made a second version. Fabrics purchased at Country Stitches.
John Putnam wanted us to know that he works with other fabrics than Civil War Reproductions. Pattern by Gudrun Era and is called Lexie
Pepper Cory was our guest speaker and she spoke to us about Scrap Quilts with a Southern Charm.
